Black Friday

Whether you like or loathe the idea, Black Friday seems like it’s here to stay. It’s set up shop, and has not only very determinedly permeated itself into our consciousness, but has also quickly spilt itself out to be a week-long affair. After all, we all love a bargain.

But lots of small businesses really feel the pinch and the pressure to compete. We put a lot of work in to maintaining competitive and realistic prices the whole year through. Whatever route they’ve decided to take today, you can bet they’ve put a lot of thought in to it.
.
So now it’s time for me to tell you what I’ll be doing! Firstly, for this weekend, when you enter the code FRIYAY at checkout you can get 20% off all printed items ?

And why all the food pictures today? Well I’m not discounting them I’m afraid. But actually, I’ve also never offered them for sale, so just for this weekend, each of the original artworks is available to buy. They’re all one offs (although as I’ve already had a lot of enquiries about some certain syrup tins, which ive allowed a limited number of back-orders, which can be delivered in time for Christmas… actually I hate to disappoint anyone, so if you miss something you’d really like, drop me a line) They are priced fairly to reflect the work that’s gone in to designing them – where I’ve tweaked them ? – and the skill that’s gone in to making them. They are on sale in as much as I don’t normally sell them! Amazing journey

I took an exciting print delivery yesterday, so this is to let you know that I’ve now updated my shop (link in bio) .
There are currently three options available ; A4 prints, A4 embellished prints (with a glittery disco ball stitched on – that’s right A DISCO BALL!!!) and the first few, which were printed just a bit too close to the edges to sit comfortably in a frame … I realised they’d still be perfect if you want to tape it to the wall, so I’ve listed them in the sale section as seconds. .

Start

You don’t have to be ready, you just have to start. My motivation this Monday comes to you in the form of a notepad I made for myself. Because I don’t know about you, but I’m often brimming with ideas, but I also often wait for everything to be ‘perfect’ before getting started, or showing you what I’m doing, or finishing things off. I don’t know when this elusive perfect moment is likely to happen … never most likely … so, i made a notebook giving myself a little reminder (/kick up the arse) to just get on with it. What do you do when this happens? If you have a better plan than making yourself a notepad with a flag in it -which is surely just a pretty form of procrastination after all – I’d love to know!

Believe in yourself

Did you know that the chance of you existing is pretty well non existent? The probability is 1 in 10 to the power of 2,695,000 (yes that’s right, a ten followed by 2,695,000 zeros) which means, by default, you really are pretty amazing. Now that we have established just how brilliant you are, I don’t think there’s much point in doubting yourself is there?

The amazing journey of an order

Since I made the new thank you order that I put in with all of my orders, I’ve had almost as many messages about the note as I have about the products I’ve sent out. Because of that, I thought the next thing I had to make was a similar picture for other small businesses – not a thank you note, but a picture showing the amazing journey of an order. And here it is!
