Black Friday

Whether you like or loathe the idea, Black Friday seems like it’s here to stay. It’s set up shop, and has not only very determinedly permeated itself into our consciousness, but has also quickly spilt itself out to be a week-long affair. After all, we all love a bargain.

But lots of small businesses really feel the pinch and the pressure to compete. We put a lot of work in to maintaining competitive and realistic prices the whole year through. Whatever route they’ve decided to take today, you can bet they’ve put a lot of thought in to it.
.
So now it’s time for me to tell you what I’ll be doing! Firstly, for this weekend, when you enter the code FRIYAY at checkout you can get 20% off all printed items ?

And why all the food pictures today? Well I’m not discounting them I’m afraid. But actually, I’ve also never offered them for sale, so just for this weekend, each of the original artworks is available to buy. They’re all one offs (although as I’ve already had a lot of enquiries about some certain syrup tins, which ive allowed a limited number of back-orders, which can be delivered in time for Christmas… actually I hate to disappoint anyone, so if you miss something you’d really like, drop me a line) They are priced fairly to reflect the work that’s gone in to designing them – where I’ve tweaked them ? – and the skill that’s gone in to making them. They are on sale in as much as I don’t normally sell them! ( and actually I feel a bit like I’ve listed my children right now ??) you can find a link in my bio for the food pictures category I’ve added to my website. .

Jam today or jam tomorrow

I’ve been stitching my way through orders and new ideas this week so I’m cheating and posting an oldie today. .
I’ll be expanding the selection of cards I have next week with more food pictures, so if there is a card or print that you’ve been waiting for (ketchup is one I get a lot of requests for) please shout! meanwhile, I asked over on stories if there were any other foods I should make and the resounding response was tea, crisps and curly whirlies so I’ll be getting to them as soon as a can! .

I realised it was probably about time to add some birthday cards to my card/food collection, so here’s the first. It had (in my head at least!) to be a tin of tomatoes. ? Squashed tomatoes… peeled plum tomatoes … it’s not far off ?‍♀️

You’re doing just fine

Do you ever feel like you don’t have a clue what you’re doing? Everyone else seems to have it figured out, have it all together, while you… you don’t.

Nobody – seriously, no one – knows what they’re doing all of the time. Thinking ‘I have no idea what I’m doing’ is rarely true, and actually, it’s not what matters anyway. It’s ok not to have it all figured out, because nobody has all of the answers. What everyone else might think or say doesn’t matter either. Give it your best shot (you can always have a marmalade sandwich or two under your hat in case of emergencies) learn from what happens and keep going, because you’re doing just fine

I wouldn’t want you to think that i have any favourites … because actually I love all the biscuits, especially the pretty ones! .
I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for the suggestions for new food packaging pictures; I’ve got quite the list to work through, so there will be lots of new packaging pictures coming soon yay! I’m off to the seaside this afternoon, and decided to use that as inspiration for my food picture this Friday which , for once, comes with packaging of the natural variety (not forgetting some handy hints on how to enjoy your moules c/o Rick Stein’s book, English Seafood Cookery!) .
