Finding inspiration

Day 4 of #positivelyinspiring15 is inspiration – here’s how I find mine.
.
A funny story (although perhaps only because the ending wasn’t too disaterous) when I was working at the make space in Bristol museum in July, I thought it would be nice to take some unframed pieces so that people could have a good look and see the back of pieces, which often seems to be quite interesting … anyway, a lady walked in to the room and plonked her red handbag and water bottle right on top of the original of this picture ??…she clearly didn’t find it very inspiring ?

You’re doing just fine

Do you ever feel like you don’t have a clue what you’re doing? Everyone else seems to have it figured out, have it all together, while you… you don’t.
.
Nobody – seriously, no one – knows what they’re doing all of the time. Thinking ‘I have no idea what I’m doing’ is rarely true, and actually, it’s not what matters anyway. It’s ok not to have it all figured out, because nobody has all of the answers. What everyone else might think or say doesn’t matter either. Give it your best shot (you can always have a marmalade sandwich or two under your hat in case of emergencies) learn from what happens and keep going, because you’re doing just fine
.

World positivity day – Positive pennants

It’s World Positivity Day – Yay!

To celebrate, @wearescamp have created a #positivelyinspiring15 insta challenge. I’m not amazing at photo challenges, but as I love the idea of posting thoughtful and inspiring words or pictures anyway, I’m going to try my hardest to join in!
.
When I was making bigger (but small!) flags the other day, I kept thinking how cute it’d be to make really tiny ones as badges. I’ve been road testing them this week, as I’ve made some with and some without the little flag sticks – my fear is that the sticks will be super annoying and catch on everything … that doesn’t seem to be the case for me, but I haven’t done the kid test yet (dog tests went well, although the subject was not very Co-operative to photograph) if you have any better ideas of what I could use instead – please do say. I love the idea of meeting a friend or passing someone in the street and giving them a little cheer without even realising you’re doing it! What do you think?

To do list

A little list of things for you to do this morning – it’s small but important! .
I don’t know about you, but I’m still catching up from the school holidays – I’m almost there now, but I often underestimate how long everything will take me … and how many hours I have in the day. It can be a bit disheartening looking at an ever-growing list of things to do, especially if you feel like you’re not reaching the things you really want to get to (which is usually when our good old friend comparison steps in to notice that everyone else seems to be managing it, and you’re getting left behind) but what’s a list without a few fun things added in? A few things that you can cross off straight away (because I know I can’t be the only one who does that!) some really important things, like remembering how amazing you are.

I wouldn’t want you to think that i have any favourites … because actually I love all the biscuits, especially the pretty ones! .
I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for the suggestions for new food packaging pictures; I’ve got quite the list to work through, so there will be lots of new packaging pictures coming soon yay! From the biscuit tin

I was doing some website tweaks yesterday (read: looking at all of the things I had had grand plans to update during the school holidays … well, I do still have 5 days ??‍♀️) and found this picture, which somehow had become hidden. .
It came to me at quite an opportune moment, because I was having a bit of a wobble at the time (perhaps linked my unrealistic holiday work plans, although in truth it just happens sometimes, doesn’t it?!) it seemed like a sign to be a bit easier on myself. Create August – work in progress

Not the best of camera angles (sorry!) but here’s a bit of free motion embroidery for your Friday afternoon. On Wednesday I asked what colour everyone associated with the word amazing over on stories ….I had replies for every colour of the rainbow, but golden was most popular, so that’s what I’ve done – thank you!
