Small and mighty

When @samburgessuk got in touch and asked if I’d be interested in appearing on her Small and podcast, my exact words were I’m honoured, but I don’t think I’d be very interesting to listen to (I told you I needed to work on the imposter syndrome thing)
Well hopefully I AM interesting to listen to, because you can listen to the episode where we had a chat about me, my business and Instagram today!

Believe in yourself

Did you know that the chance of you existing is pretty well non existent? The probability is 1 in 10 to the power of 2,695,000 (yes that’s right, a ten followed by 2,695,000 zeros) which means, by default, you really are pretty amazing. Now that we have established just how brilliant you are, I don’t think there’s much point in doubting yourself is there?

The amazing journey of an order

Since I made the new thank you order that I put in with all of my orders, I’ve had almost as many messages about the note as I have about the products I’ve sent out. Because of that, I thought the next thing I had to make was a similar picture for other small businesses – not a thank you note, but a picture showing the amazing journey of an order. And here it is! It’s reaching that time of year where we’re starting to think about Christmas – whether it’s frantically prepping for fairs, shop and online sales, starting to see flurries of orders coming in ?, or writing lists of things to gift. .
Whatever the reason, a shop small badge is the perfect addition to your cardie to wave the small (but mighty) flag for the small (but mighty) businesses. I have maker versions like this, which I splattered in paint or my regular blue, both of which are free motion embroidered with the teeny tiniest writing and available on my website. .

Happy dance

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a work in progress shot, so I thought I’d show you a little snippet of a new note picture that I’ve been working on. This one is called The amazing journey of an order. I decided to make it after all of the lovely comments and photo shares I get for my Thank you slip that I put in with my own orders

I obviously couldn’t leave out that happy dance feeling, and because it really does make me feel very happy getting an order I added a sparkly disco ball! .

Playing with paint

I had great fun splattering fabric paint ? over material, my workshop and all over myself yesterday (sadly it was only once I got home from the school run that I realised I had been sporting a yellow eyebrow ?) I wanted to make some maker badges that looked like they were cut from a painters apron – like a maker had made them ?. There are a few different wording options, which I’ve listed over on my website now.

Makers banner

I’m so pleased that my makers banners are getting lots of love, because I really love them too! My main criteria for printing on to fabric was that I really wanted the option of being able to personalise/embellish the final piece, and I’m just loving all the words of wisdom that you’re asking me to sew!
